American Gold Buffalo Proof Coin Reverse

The reverse design for the series of 24 karat gold coins. This is taken from James Earle Fraser’s classic design for the Buffalo Nickel, issued for circulation from 1913 to 1938 with modifications to the inscriptions. The buffalo or American Bison is based on a real life model. This is the proof version of the coin, with the lowest mintage for this version occurring with the 2008 Proof Gold Buffalo.
