2011-W Eliza Johnson First Spouse Gold Coin Reverse

After the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee summarily rejected all of the US Mint’s design candidates for the reverse of the Eliza Johnson coin, a new set of designs was prepared. This design prepared by Gary Whitley and sculpted by Phebe Hemphill was selected from the second set. It depicts three children dancing and a marine band fiddler playing at a children’s ball.
