2008 Proof American Silver Eagle Obverse

The obverse design for the collectible Proof 2008 Silver Eagle. This coin was issued amidst a surge in demand for the bullion version of the coin, which had some consequences for the collectible offering. The US Mint suspended production of the proof coins in order to devote all incoming blank supplies to the production of bullion coins. The unexpected close of sales resulted in immediate premiums for the coin.
