2008 American Silver Eagle Obverse

The United States Mint struggled to meet demand for the bullion version of the American Silver Eagle during 2008. This resulted in sales suspensions and eventually rationing quantities of available coins. Despite the suspensions and rationing, the total mintage zoomed to an all time high of 20,583,000.
