2008 Gold Buffalo Proof Coin Obverse

The United States Mint expanded the range of collector offerings for the American Gold Buffalo for the year 2008. The expanded line proved to be short lived as the additional coins were canceled before the end of the year. The 2008 Proof Gold Buffalo was struck in one ounce size with $50 face value, one-half ounce with $25 face value, one-quarter ounce with $10 face value, and one-tenth ounce coin with $5 face value. These coins were offered for sale individually or as a complete 4 coin set.
