2006 American Gold Buffalo Bullion Coin Obverse

The first year of release for the American Gold Buffalo, the 24 karat gold bullion and collector offering of the US Mint. The coins feature James Earle Fraser’s classic design from the Buffalo Nickel featuring a composite portrait of a Native American chief. The bullion coins were a very popular offering and sold more than 500,000 coins.
