2004 Jefferson Nickel Obverse

The portrait of Thomas Jefferson designed by Felix Schlag for the nickel was used from the introduction of the series in 1938 until 2004. The following years, the Jefferson Nickel would go through a series of obverse and reverse design changes, after which a new obverse would be put into place.
