1989 Congress Bicentennial Half Dollar Reverse

Full view of the Capitol Building surrounded by a wreath of stars is depicted on the reverse design of the 1989 Congress Bicentennial Half Dollar. These coins were issued in uncirculated version struck at the Denver Mint and proof version struck at the San Francisco Mint. These represented the first clad composition half dollars within the modern commemorative coin era.
